Invok Terms and Conditions
Last updated: 5 October 2026
These Terms and Conditions govern your access to and use of Invok, including our website, subscription platform, tools, content, and related services.
By creating an account, purchasing a subscription, or using Invok, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use Invok.
1. About Us
Invok is operated by Zach Batterton.
In these Terms, “Invok”, “we”, “us”, and “our” refer to Zach Batterton. “You” and “your” refer to the person or business using Invok.
2. The Service
Invok provides subscription-based website tools designed to help freelancers run and manage aspects of their business.
Invok may include features for business organisation, workflow support, client management, administration, content, templates, or other freelancer-focused tools. We may update, improve, remove, or change features from time to time.
Invok does not provide legal, financial, tax, accounting, or professional advisory services. Any information, templates, prompts, outputs, or guidance made available through Invok are for general business support only. You are responsible for deciding whether they are suitable for your circumstances.
3. Eligibility
You may use Invok as:
- a consumer, where you are using the service mainly for personal purposes; or
- a business user, sole trader, freelancer, company, partnership, or other organisation.
If you use Invok on behalf of a business or organisation, you confirm that you have authority to bind that business or organisation to these Terms.
4. Account Registration
To access certain features, you may need to create an account.
You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must notify us promptly if you believe your account has been accessed without authorisation.
5. Subscriptions and Billing
Invok is provided on a paid subscription basis unless we state otherwise.
By purchasing a subscription, you authorise us or our payment provider to charge the applicable subscription fees, taxes, and other charges using your selected payment method.
Your subscription will renew automatically at the end of each billing cycle unless you cancel it before the start of the next billing cycle.
Billing cycles, prices, included features, and payment terms will be shown at checkout or within your account.
6. Payment Processing Fees
Where Invok processes a payment from your client on your behalf — for example, when a client pays an invoice online by card — we do so using Stripe Connect, and the payment is made directly into your own Stripe account. Invok does not hold or take custody of your money at any point.
In addition to Stripe’s own card-processing fees, which Stripe charges directly under its own terms, Invok charges a transaction fee (an application fee) on each such payment. This fee is 0.59% of the payment amount on the Free plan (£5.90 per £1,000 processed), and 0.20% on the Essential and Growth plans (£2 per £1,000 processed). On Enterprise it is 0.20% unless your individual quote sets out a different fee. On the Growth plan, no Invok transaction fee is charged on the first £1,000 of GBP card payments you take each calendar month (UK time); Stripe’s own fees still apply.
You can see the fee that applies to your current plan in your account’s payment settings. We may change this fee schedule from time to time, subject to the notice requirements in “19. Changes to These Terms” below.
7. Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
To avoid being charged for the next billing cycle, you must cancel before that billing cycle begins.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current paid billing period unless we state otherwise or applicable law requires otherwise. You will normally continue to have access to paid features until the end of the billing period you have already paid for.
Cancelling your subscription permanently deletes your account and all data associated with it — including clients, jobs, invoices, payments, and files. This happens automatically once your subscription ends and cannot be undone.
Failure to use the service, forgetting to cancel, or no longer needing the service does not entitle you to a refund.
8. Refund Policy
Our refund policy forms part of these Terms.
Except where required by law, all subscription fees are non-refundable. We do not provide refunds or credits for:
- unused subscription time;
- partial billing periods;
- failure to cancel before renewal;
- account inactivity;
- changes in your business needs;
- dissatisfaction where the service has been provided as described; or
- accidental renewal where cancellation was not completed before the next billing cycle began.
This does not affect any legal rights you may have under applicable law.
9. Consumer Cancellation Rights
If you are a UK consumer, you may have certain cancellation rights under consumer law.
Where applicable, you may have a right to cancel a distance contract within 14 days. However, where you request or agree that we begin providing digital services during that cancellation period, you may lose the right to cancel once the service has been fully performed, or you may be required to pay for the portion of the service provided before cancellation.
Where the law gives you rights that cannot be excluded, these Terms do not limit or remove those rights.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to misuse Invok.
You must not:
- use Invok unlawfully or fraudulently;
- interfere with the security, availability, or operation of the service;
- attempt to access accounts, systems, or data without permission;
- copy, scrape, resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit Invok except as expressly allowed;
- upload malicious code or harmful content;
- use Invok to infringe anyone’s rights;
- reverse engineer or attempt to extract source code except where permitted by law; or
- use Invok in a way that could damage our reputation or service.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms.
11. User Content and Data
You may submit, upload, create, or store content through Invok.
You remain responsible for your content and for ensuring that you have the necessary rights to use it.
You grant us a limited licence to host, process, transmit, display, and use your content only as necessary to provide, maintain, secure, and improve Invok.
You must not submit content that is unlawful, confidential without authority, infringing, misleading, harmful, or otherwise inappropriate.
12. Privacy
We collect data in a database and do not use it for anything outside of Invok, except where third-party services we rely on to operate Invok (such as payment processing, hosting, email delivery, and AI-assisted features) need to process it on our behalf to provide those parts of the service.
You are responsible for ensuring that any personal data you upload or process through Invok is handled lawfully.
13. Intellectual Property
Invok, including our website, software, branding, design, templates, documentation, and content, is owned by us or our licensors.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use Invok for your own lawful personal or business purposes during your active subscription.
No rights are transferred to you except as expressly stated in these Terms.
14. Third-Party Services
Invok may integrate with or link to third-party services. We are not responsible for third-party websites, platforms, services, terms, privacy practices, or availability.
Your use of third-party services may be subject to separate terms.
15. Availability and Changes
We aim to keep Invok available and working reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free, or permanent availability.
We may suspend access for maintenance, updates, security, operational reasons, or circumstances outside our reasonable control.
We may change, replace, or discontinue features where reasonably necessary. If a material change significantly affects your paid subscription, we will take reasonable steps to notify you.
16. Disclaimers
Invok is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not guarantee that Invok will meet your specific business needs, produce particular results, increase revenue, secure clients, or prevent business loss.
You are responsible for your own business decisions, client relationships, pricing, contracts, tax obligations, legal compliance, and professional advice.
17. Limitation of Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation, or any statutory rights that cannot be excluded.
For business users, to the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for loss of profits, revenue, business, goodwill, anticipated savings, data, or indirect or consequential loss.
For business users, our total liability arising out of or relating to Invok will not exceed the amount you paid to us for the service in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.
For consumers, we are responsible for foreseeable loss and damage caused by our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill, but we are not responsible for loss that is not foreseeable.
18. Suspension and Termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if:
- you breach these Terms;
- payment fails and is not resolved;
- we reasonably suspect fraud, misuse, or security risk;
- we are required to do so by law; or
- continued access would create legal, operational, or reputational risk.
You may stop using Invok at any time. As set out in “7. Cancellation” above, cancelling your subscription automatically and permanently deletes your account and data once the subscription ends, subject to our legal and operational retention requirements.
19. Price Changes
We may change subscription prices from time to time.
Where required, we will give reasonable notice before a price change takes effect. If you do not agree to the new price, you should cancel your subscription before the next billing cycle begins.
20. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
If we make material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Continued use of Invok after updated Terms take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
21. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
If you are a business user, the courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction over disputes arising from or relating to these Terms.
If you are a consumer, you may have the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the part of the United Kingdom where you live.
